After watching one of the following shows, (one season should
be enough) you will select one of the assessment tools in Table 4-2 to apply to
the show’s family. You may have creative liberty with your assessment, formulating
what you believe your assessment would be if you had the opportunity to interview
the family members. Templates are provided for each assessment tool. You are
advised to use the template to address all components of the assessment.
After completing the assessment, your final section will
contain your interventions for this family. Simple saying “referral to family
counseling” is not acceptable. You should apply your research skills here and discuss
specific interventions. This is where you will cite an additional source. Be
aware that this section is worth 15 points.
Headings will come directly from your assessment tool. See
examples in the module and refer to the rubric for maximum points. Reference at
least one source other than your text and the provided Wright and Leahey (2013)
resource.
