Alternative Final Project
Write a concise and well documented research paper on a historical figure or event in American history from the time period between 1860 and 1980. Remember this is not an opinion paper. You must have at least 5 reference sources from books and periodical in addition to any other reference source. The title page and bibliography pages do not count as part of the 5 page required length. Documentation must be shown in the form of footnotes, endnotes or parenthetical citations. Do not use Wikipedia! It is not a reliable resource.
You will be graded on grammar, spelling and a logical thought process. The paper is to be typed using standard margins and 12 point Times New Roman font. Your research paper will be due at the same time as the the Family Genealogy Final Project Summary and can be turned in through that module. All of your points for your project will also show up in the grade book for that module. You do not need to do anything related to the interviews or the pedigree chart. Do not worry when you see a 0 in the interview modules and the pedigree chart module because it will not affect your grade but it is necessary in order for your grade to average out properly.
