Throughout
this course, you will work towards creating a financial plan for a Fortune 500
as if you were a manager. This week you will start your research
that will be used in the Summative Assessments in Weeks 2, 4, and 6. You will
not be able to change your company after this week. You will study and write
about the same Fortune 500 for six weeks.
Select a
Fortune 500 company. Pick a Fortune 500 company you will enjoy learning about
their financial performance.
Retrieve
financial information and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Fortune 500
company studied in our class. You may find this information on Yahoo!
Finance®, in the University of Phoenix Library Finance Resources,
Fortune 500 company’s website, or other finance resources online. If you are
unfamiliar with using Yahoo! Finance, the Yahoo! Finance Navigation Guide provides
helpful information on finding KPIs for your company.
Your
financial plan will need to include KPIs for your company. Create a 1- to
2-page outline or chart identifying KPIs, including the following. Provide the
answer for each financial metric for 2021 and 2022. For instance, share the
ticker symbol for the Fortune 500 company. Provide cash flow from operations.
Provide PE, dividends, EPS, etc.

Earnings

estimates for the next 12 months

recommendations for the stock (buy, sell, or hold)
Market
cap for the company

Class members will use the Word Template, located in the University of
Phoenix Writing Center, for the homework assignments in weeks one, three, and
five. I provided the steps for accessing the Word Template as an announcement
before the first day of class. You are using the Word Template with minimum
standards for complying with APA. For instance, you will provide a title page,
citations, and reference page. If class members cannot find the Word Template,
please send me a private message.
Class members might write a paper or presentation in weeks two, four, and
six. If you write a paper, use the Word template. If you write a presentation,
include speaker notes with the same rigor level as a paper. Each slide has 3-5
bullets, and a bullet is less than 12 words. In the Writing Center, we have a
Sample Presentation. I provided steps for getting the Sample Presentation as an
announcement before the first day of class. If you do not see the Sample
Presentation, please private message me. If class members need help with any
assignment, please send me a private message.
